Accessing Missed Appointment Settings
Automatically Marking Missed Appointments
Find the toggle called Automatically Mark Missed Appointment Options.
If the toggle is OFF: Appointments are NOT automatically marked as missed.
If this toggle is ON:
- Appointments will automatically be marked as missed after the specified time has passed.

- Choose a Timeframe: How long the system should wait before marking an appointment as missed?If the patient is not marked as arrived within the set time, their appointment status changes to missed.
Missed Appointment Texts
On the Reminder Options screen, select when a missed appointment text should be sent.
βNever: ChiroHD marks appointments as missed, but does not send a text.
After First Missed Appointment: Sends a missed text after the first missed appointment on a day with multiple appointments.
After Last Missed Appointment: Waits until the last appointment of the day is marked missed, then sends the text.

Manually Marking Appointments as Missed
On the calendar, open the appointment dropdown menu of the Patient, go to Status Options and select Missed.
Important NOTE: Automatic missed appointment texts are only sent if ChiroHD marks as missed automatically. Manual missed markings require manual text sending.
Manually Sending Missed Appointment Texts
The first step is to Create a Text Preset.

NOTE: The option is available only if the appointment has not already been marked missed.
βEnter the preset. Click Send.

For the example above, we used the Missed Appt - Adj Preset.
Triggers for Missed Appointment Messages
Another option, is to set up a Trigger which will allow all appointments to automatically send a text message, whether manually or automatically marked as missed.

Missed vs. Canceled Appointments
Canceled appointments leave the calendar.
βMissed appointments stay on the calendar.
Troubleshooting Missed Appointment Text Messages
If a missed appointment text message was not sent automatically, review the following:
Appointment Status
Confirm the appointment was marked as Missed and not Cancelled.
βHow the Appointment Was Marked
Determine whether the appointment was marked as missed automatically by ChiroHD or manually by staff. Remember, only appointments automatically marked as missed will trigger an automatic text message unless a custom trigger is configured.

Ensure a wait time has been entered for missed appointment processing.
