Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Enable the Notification Area

The Notification Area simplifies access to new texts and pending alerts.

  1. Log into the location.

  2. Navigate to Settings, then Office, and select Office Configuration.

  3. Toggle the Notification Area to "On".

If you do not see this option, please contact Support.

Step 2: Enable Two-Way Texting

  1. Log into the location.

  2. Navigate to Settings, then Office, and select Office Configuration.

  3. Toggle 2-Way Patient Messaging to "On".

Step 3: Start Texting with Patients

  1. Pull up the patient's snapshot on the left-hand side of your screen. You can do this by:

    • Clicking on the patient's appointment on the calendar.

    • Searching for their name in the search box.

  2. Click on the patient's phone number in blue (ensure it is listed as a cell phone).

Alternatively, you can:

  • Click on the drop-down arrow on the patient's appointment in the calendar.

  • Select "Send Message".

This will open a two-way message with that patient.

Important Notes

  • HIPAA Compliance: Ensure all communications are HIPAA compliant.

  • A2P Restrictions: Including links in your texts can increase the likelihood of phone carriers filtering the text away from your patient.

  • Unique Phone Numbers: Avoid having the same phone number in multiple patient profiles as it can cause issues with various actions and jumble the two-way texting window. Set them up correctly through the Family tab in the patient's profile.

By following these steps, you can efficiently use ChiroHD's two-way texting feature to maintain easy contact with your patients.
