The Patient Snapshot in ChiroHD provides a centralized, real-time overview of key patient data and quick-access functions. It is designed to streamline patient management by consolidating appointments, communications, care planning, billing status, and task completion into a single interface.
Accessing the Patient Snapshot
You can open the Patient Snapshot in two primary ways:
Click the patient’s name directly on the calendar
Use the search bar at the top of the system
Search Capabilities:
The search bar accepts:
First or last name (partial matches supported)
Email address
Patient ID
Phone number
Tip: You must enter at least three characters in the search box for results to appear.
Filters: By default, only active patients are displayed. If a patient does not appear, set the filter to “Include Inactive” to ensure they can be found. Inactive patients appear in red.
Key Components of the Patient Snapshot
1. Patient Information Panel
Full name, gender, ID number, demographics
Contact details (phone numbers are clickable for two-way texting)
Patient tags (hover to view; click “Add New Tag” to assign additional tags)
2. Appointment Summary
Displays today’s appointment type and time
Past and future appointments listed chronologically
Current date is highlighted in green
Future appointments can be edited directly
Alerts can be set to ensure specific appointment types (e.g., re-exams) are scheduled
3. Task List Progress
Shows the percentage completion of the task list template
Clicking on this area takes you directly to the outstanding tasks for that patient
4. Active Alerts
If an alert is triggered (e.g., upon patient arrival), it is shown prominently
Alerts turn red on the calendar and are visible in the Snapshot
Options include: Mark as Complete, Move to Next Appointment, or Edit
Care Plan and Case Management
1. Care Plan Tracker
Visible if a care plan is assigned
Clickable for viewing or editing care plan details
2. Case Overview
Displays all active cases associated with the patient
Clickable links to each case
One case must be designated as default, as many system functions rely on this assignment
Set default by visiting the Cases tab and clicking the push pin icon
Ledger and Financials
1. Adjustment and Massage Counters
Displays charge counts based on ledger data
Tracks calendar year totals, policy year totals (if insurance-based), and lifetime visit totals
2. Outstanding Balances
Shows balances across all cases
Insurance balance: Outstanding claims by case
Patient balance: Amounts owed or credits available (positive balances in red, credits in green)
Communication and Notes
1. Texting
Phone numbers in blue are clickable and open a two-way SMS communication window with the patient
2. Patient Notes Box
Expandable for detailed internal notes
Notes can be color-coded for visibility and categorization
Appointment Controls
Quick access to reschedule or cancel future appointments
Option to cancel all appointments or only certain days (e.g., all Tuesdays)
Edit appointment types as needed directly from the snapshot
Transaction Overview
Snapshot includes a scrollable view of recent transactions
Today’s transactions are highlighted in green
Clicking the area opens the full Transaction Ledger

A collapsible sidebar allows you to pull up the Snapshot for reference without navigating away from your current workflow.
When using the Snapshot from the SOAP Note screen, click “Snapshot” to open it on the right side.
