Barcode Migration from Platinum to ChiroHD with SKED

Migrate Platinum patient barcodes into ChiroHD to continue SKED barcode check-in and SOAP Notes workflows.

šŸ“ Overview

Beginning in June 2026, ChiroHD supports migrating patient barcodes from Platinum for offices that are:

  • Migrating from Platinum to ChiroHD

  • Currently using the SKED app

  • Planning to continue using the SKED app after migration

During the migration process, existing patient barcode information from Platinum will be brought into ChiroHD and stored in the ChiroHD backend. This allows offices to continue using their existing barcode workflow without interruption.

šŸ”„ How the Barcode Workflow Works in ChiroHD

The barcode system is designed to support two primary workflows:

  • Patient appointment check-in

  • Pulling up the patient profile on the provider’s SOAP Notes screen

Patients will scan their barcode two separate times during their visit.

1ļøāƒ£ Step 1: Patient Checks In Using Their Barcode

When a patient arrives for their appointment, they can open their barcode within the SKED app and scan it at the ChiroHD check-in device.

After scanning:

  • If the patient is an individual patient, their appointment will automatically be arrived

  • If the patient is part of a family account, the family member names will appear on the check-in device

  • The patient can then select which family members are checking in for appointments that day

If the office has Patient Subjectives enabled, the patient will also be prompted to complete their subjective questions directly on the check-in device before proceeding to treatment.

Once completed, the patient can continue to their assigned treatment area.

2ļøāƒ£ Step 2: Patient Scans Barcode at the Treatment Area

After arriving at the treatment area, the patient will scan their barcode a second time.

This second scan is used to pull up the patient’s profile on the provider’s SOAP Notes screen so the provider can begin documentation for the visit.

āš ļø Important Requirements

For this workflow to function properly:

  • The SOAP Notes screen must be in Patient Mode

  • The barcode scanner must be connected to the treatment area workstation

Once the barcode is scanned:

  • The patient’s profile will automatically open on the SOAP Notes screen

  • A screensaver will immediately appear to protect patient information

  • The patient can then sit down and wait for the provider

When the provider is ready to begin documentation, they simply dismiss the screensaver, and the patient’s file will already be loaded and ready for use.

šŸ” What the Barcode Feature Does

The barcode workflow serves two primary purposes:

Appointment Arrival

The first barcode scan allows the patient to arrive their appointment and complete any required check-in workflows.

SOAP Notes Patient Selection

The second barcode scan automatically pulls the patient’s profile onto the provider’s SOAP Notes screen for documentation.

ā“ Is the Barcode System Required?

No. Offices migrating from Platinum to ChiroHD are not required to continue using their existing barcode system.

ChiroHD already includes built-in workflows that support the same functionality without barcodes.

šŸ” ChiroHD Alternatives Include:

Check-In Device Functionality

Patients can check themselves in directly through the ChiroHD check-in device.

Patient Mode in SOAP Notes

Within Patient Mode, patients can enter their date of birth to pull up their profile on the SOAP Notes screen without scanning a barcode.

Because of these built-in capabilities, many offices may choose not to continue using barcodes after migrating.

However, for offices that prefer to maintain their existing Platinum and SKED barcode workflow, ChiroHD now supports barcode migration and continued barcode usage beginning June 2026.

āœ… Key Takeaways

  • ChiroHD supports migrating patient barcodes from Platinum beginning June 2026.

  • Patients will scan their barcode two separate times during their visit.

  • The first scan is used for appointment arrival and check-in workflows.

  • The second scan is used to pull up the patient’s profile on the provider’s SOAP Notes screen.

  • Offices are not required to continue using barcodes because ChiroHD includes built-in alternatives.

šŸ“Œ Conclusion

ChiroHD supports continued barcode usage for offices migrating from Platinum that want to maintain their existing Platinum and SKED barcode workflow. Offices may also choose to use ChiroHD’s built-in check-in and Patient Mode workflows without barcodes.
