Accessing the Referral Tree Dashboard

  1. Navigate to your live location in ChiroHD.

  2. Go to Reporting > Reporting Dashboards.

  3. Click on Referral Tree.

Note: This dashboard focuses exclusively on direct patient referrals. Other referral sources, such as marketing, are not included.

Setting Up Patient Referrals

To ensure accurate data on the Referral Tree Dashboard, set up patient referrals correctly:

  1. When booking a new patient, select "Patient Referral" as the referral source.

  2. Enter the name of the patient who referred them.

  3. This information will be saved in the patient's profile under Referral Information and will be used to populate the Referral Tree Dashboard.

Navigating the Referral Tree Dashboard

You can filter and customize your view based on the number of referrals and the date range:

  • Minimum Referral Setting: Choose to display patients who have referred a specific number of other patients (e.g., three or more).

  • Date Range Selector: Use the quick date selector to choose a preset date range or manually set the start and end dates.

Understanding the Referral Tree Structure

The dashboard displays a tree structure showing how referrals branch out from main patients:

  • Click to Expand: Clicking this will reveal more details, displaying how each branch grows from the original referral.

Example:

  • Ellen is a main patient (main branch) who directly referred four patients: Sophia, Jameson, Christopher, and Danne.

  • Direct Referrals: Patients directly referred by the main patient. In this example, Ellen’s direct referrals are four individuals.

  • Aggregate Referrals: Referrals made by Ellen’s direct referrals. For instance, if Danny referred more patients, they would be part of the aggregate referrals. In total, Ellen’s four direct referrals expanded to eight aggregate referrals.

Income Metrics on the Referral Tree Dashboard

The dashboard provides metrics on income generated from referrals:

  1. Income Generated Directly from Patient
Shows the income brought in directly by the main patient (e.g., Ellen generated $1,200 for the clinic). The time frame affects only referral tracking, not the income calculation.

  2. Total Income from All Referrals
Displays the total income generated by all referrals originating from the main patient's branch. For instance, the total income includes revenue from all eight aggregate referrals starting from Ellen.

Visualizing Referral Patterns

The Referral Tree Dashboard provides a clear, visual representation of how patient referrals spread throughout your office:

  • Expand and Minimize Branches: Click to expand to see more details or minimize for a simplified view.

  • Understand how effectively patients are referring others, and analyze the income generated through word-of-mouth referrals.

This dashboard helps you gain insights into your referral patterns, showing how your patient base grows through direct and aggregate referrals. Use it to track the effectiveness of patient referrals and understand how revenue flows through these connections.

Conclusion

The Referral Tree Dashboard is a powerful tool for visualizing patient-to-patient referrals and understanding their impact on your practice’s growth. With its intuitive design, you can easily track direct and aggregate referrals, monitor income metrics, and see how word-of-mouth referrals are helping to grow your patient base.
