Understanding the New Patient Referral Income Report
To be included in the New Patient Referral Income Report, a new patient (NP) must have a recorded/tracked NP charge within the specified time frame. The report tracks income generated by these patients based on different metrics. Here’s a breakdown of each metric and how it’s calculated:
Period Amount
Definition:
Total money collected during the set time period from new patients who had an NP charge within that period.
Example:
Running the report for July (7/1-7/31) will show the total income from new patients who had an NP charge within July. The report sums up all payments made by these patients between 7/1 and 7/31.
Period Per Patient
Definition:
Average amount of money collected during the set time period from new patients who had an NP charge within that period.
Example:
Running the report for July (7/1-7/31) calculates the average income from new patients who had an NP charge within July by dividing the total income by the number of new patients in that period.
Lifetime Collected
Definition:
Total money collected from new patients (identified within the set time frame) beyond the initial time frame.
Example:
Running the report for July (7/1-7/31) shows the total income from new patients who had an NP charge within July, including any payments made beyond July, such as those made in August.
Lifetime Per Patient
Definition:
Average amount of money collected beyond the set time frame from new patients identified within that period.
Example:
Running the report for July (7/1-7/31) calculates the average income from new patients who had an NP charge within July, including payments made beyond July. The report averages the total income by the number of new patients from the specified period.
