Setting Up Exception Hours

Updated this week

πŸ“ Overview

Exception hours allow you to temporarily alter your normal calendar schedule for special circumstances (holidays, early closings, etc.). This guide outlines the quick steps needed to set up exception hours in ChiroHD to ensure your calendar stays accurate and patients are informed.

Accessing Calendar Schedule Settings

  • Navigate to your Live Location, click the gear icon on the calendar you would like to change.

  • The system defaults to Exception hours for temporary changes (Holliday hours, early closure etc).

  • Use the date picker (or select a specific date on the calendar) to set the exception hours for that day (e.g., a holiday closure).

  • Edit the working hours for partial availability, or remove all hours to indicate closure for the entire day. After making changes, click Save.

  • The calendar will now reflect the new exception hours (e.g., shown as 'Closed' for the morning).

  • Exception Hours will also be highlighted in the Upcoming Exception of the Calendar Schedule Settings.

  • To revert to normal hours (or remove the exception), access the same date via the gear icon, click delete, then save the changes to restore the standard schedule.

βœ… Key Takeaways

  • Exception hours apply to a single day and override normal recurring hours for that provider.

  • Remember to click Exception instead of Providers Schedule to make changes to the Exception hours.

  • Plan exception hours ahead of time (e.g., for holidays) so they are automatically considered when scheduling individually or bulk scheduling.

  • Exception hours display clearly on the calendar and can be reverted anytime.

πŸ“Œ Conclusion

Using ChiroHD's exception hours ensures your calendar accurately reflects special circumstances and keeps appointments scheduled properly. Exception hours streamline schedule management for holidays or unique provider availability changes.
