📝 Overview
In ChiroHD, patients are automatically opted in for text reminders when they are entered into the system. However, both the office and the patient have the ability to opt out of or back into receiving text messages when necessary.
🚫 Opting a Patient Out
✋ Manually by the Office
Go to the patient’s profile
Click the drop-down menu
Select “Text Opt-Out” to disable reminders
📴 By the Patient
If a patient replies to any office text with:
STOP
STOP ALL
UNSUBSCRIBE
CANCEL
QUIT
They will be automatically opted out of all future texts.
📌 This overrides any opt-in status set in the profile.
🕵️ Identifying an Opted-Out Patient
ChiroHD will display a notification confirming the patient sent a stop request
If a staff member attempts to text the patient, they’ll see an error message stating the number is blacklisted
🔄 Opting a Patient Back In
✅ Step 1: The Patient Texts “START”
The patient must text START to the office's texting number
🔍 Don’t know your office’s texting number?
Go to: Settings > Initial Setup > Integrations > Twilio
✅ Step 2: Confirm Opt-In Status in ChiroHD
After receiving the START message, navigate to the patient’s profile
Ensure they are now marked as opted-in for text reminders
📌 This is a two-step process: the patient must send the text, and the office must verify status in the system.
