How To Link A Fortis Payment That Is Not Connected To A Fortis Contact

If payment has ran in Fortis, and for some reason is not showing up in the patient's Fortis recent transactions, and it is not showing in their ChiroHD ledger... there is a chance that the payment was ran without linking to a Fortis Contact.

If the office is sending Paylinks via Fortis, these payments are never attached to a contact. A Paylink is a link that the office can send to the patient for them to pay online for their appointment, or even pay ahead for this appointment.

The below steps will show you how to find payments that are not linked as well as how to link them to the correct contact.


1. Open Fortis Contact.

2. Click on the Reports tab (this is a Fortis report tab, not a ChiroHD report).

3. Click on Transactions. This is a Fortis report of all transactions for the office.

4. Under the Transaction Date column, click on the drop-down arrow to set your desired date range.


5. To tell if a payment is attached to a contact, you want to look at the Contact First and Last Name field. If a payment is linked to a Fortis contact, the patient's name will appear in blue under that field. If the payment has not been linked, you will notice that the field is blank (please see the yellow box below).

This means that the payment was made, and the money is in the office's account, but it is essentially floating around because it is not linked to a contact. Therefore it will not appear in the recent transactions column for that patient in Fortis, and it will not appear in their ChiroHD ledger.


How to link the found payment -

6. While on the transactions report, to the left of the Contact First and Last Name field, you will see the Full transaction details button (second icon from the left). Click on that icon.

7. Click Link to Contact.

8. Here is where you are going to search for the patient's name to link the payment to the patient's account. Type the patient's name > click on the name > save



At this point, the payment has been linked to the patient's account in Fortis. The below steps will walk you through how to then sync the changes made in Fortis to the patient's ledger in ChiroHD.

10. Go back to the patient's ledger in ChiroHD > click on the gray drop-down arrow next to Sync with Fortis > Select All.

11. Click on the green refresh button on the ledger.
