π Overview
The EOB History screen is your central location for reviewing EOBs that have been finalized and posted in ChiroHD. This screen only displays completed EOBs β any EOBs still in progress or saved as drafts will appear in the Pending EOBs section on your Insurance home screen.
Accessing the EOB History Screen
Navigate to your Live Location, Insurance Tab to open your Insurance Dashboard, click EOB History.
Using the Search Filters
The left side of the screen contains search filters to help narrow your results. You can filter by:
Start and End Date β the dates the EOB was posted in ChiroHD (not the service date)
Check Number
Amount
Payment Type
Third Party Payer
After setting your filters, click Search Payments to view results.
β
EOB History Tab vs EOB History (Legacy)
Use the matching EOB History tab based on the Process EOB tab you used.
βFor example, if you processed the EOB using the Process EOB (Legacy) tab, the EOB will appear in the EOB History (Legacy) tab. Likewise, EOBs processed using the current Process EOB tab will appear in the corresponding EOB History tab.
β
If you don't see the EOB you're looking for, check that your filters are correct, then toggle to the other tab and search again. You can hover over the question mark icon on each tab for a brief explanation.
Understanding the Results List - Collapsed Summary View
Each EOB appears as a collapsed summary row.
At a glance, you can see:
Payment indicator β how the EOB was received
Green "A" β payment was received automatically via an ERA file, then reviewed and posted in ChiroHD
Gray "M" β payment was entered manually on the EOB posting screen
Posting date
Payers included
Check number
Memo
Total amount
Paperclip icon β indicates a document was attached when the EOB was posted
Reviewing Expanded EOB Detailed View
Select an EOB row to expand it and see detailed payment information.
β
When expanded, the EOB record shows full payment information. Scroll left and right to view all columns, which include:
Service date
Patient name (click to open the patient profile)
Third party payer
CPT code
Office description
Billed amount
Disallowed, allowed, and paid amounts
Write-off
Deductible, copay, coinsurance
Other patient responsibility
Fees
Number of rejections
Previously paid amount
Remaining insurance balance
If a document was attached, a paperclip icon will appear β click Download Attached Document to view it.
The expanded view also displays the check number, check date, memo, payers, payment type, and who posted the EOB in ChiroHD.
NOTE: The posted-by field reflects whoever was logged in to the Process EOB screen when the EOB was finalized.
Available Actions
The EOB History screen provides several tools for managing finalized EOBs:
Upload Document β if no document was attached at the time of posting, you can upload one now. This is useful if you later receive a scanned copy and want to store it with the record.
Download Document β if a document was previously uploaded, you can download it here.
βDelete Payment β permanently removes the payment from ChiroHD. A confirmation message will appear before deletion. Deleting an EOB removes the payment record from your collections and reverses all ledger activity associated with that EOB. Use this option carefully and only when necessary.
Editing a Finalized EOB
The Edit EOB button appears on finalized EOBs in your EOB History.
Clicking Edit EOB allows you to make corrections and repost the EOB.
βWhen you click Edit, a warning message will appear before you are navigated back to the Process EOB screen.
From there, make your desired corrections and finalize when ready.
Because editing an EOB reverses ledger activity, it should be used with caution and only when corrections are necessary.
This is a permission-controlled feature and may not be available to all users.
β Key Takeaways
The EOB History screen displays only finalized and posted EOBs. Pending or draft EOBs are found in the Pending EOB section.
Use the search filters and toggles to find the correct finalized EOB records.
Payment indicators (green A for eRA, gray m for manual) help you quickly identify posting methods.
Manage attached documents easily by uploading or downloading as needed.
Certain actions, like editing, are permission controlled for user safety.
Deleting or editing EOBs reverses associated ledger transactions and must be done thoughtfully.
