📝 Overview
This article details the process of managing inventory for individual clinic locations within ChiroHD, including enabling or disabling inventory items at your location, creating location-specific items, and setting up overrides for item properties.
Accessing Location-Level Inventory
Location-Level Inventory Overview
Location-Level Inventory contains three tabs:
System Defaults
Location Specific
Pending Requests
The sections below provide a detailed overview of each tab and its functionality.
System Defaults Tab
Under the System Defaults tab, you will see all inventory items that have been created at the system level.
Each checkbox in the Include column determines whether your clinic carries that item.
If the item is checked, it is available for that location.
If the item is unchecked, it will not appear when posting charges at that location. Unchecking an item does not delete it. It simply opts your location out of using that inventory item.
Note: Inventory items marked as inactive at the system level will not appear under this tab.
Location-Specific Tab
Location-specific inventory items are not created at the system level. They are only available to the location where they were created or approved.
Pending Requests Tab
If your System admin has Moderate Location Inventory Items turned on, location-specific inventory items must be submitted for approval. This is where you would find the pending requests.
ChiroHD includes a setting called Moderate Location Inventory that allows system administrators to review and approve location-level inventory items.
Please see our other resource on Moderate Location Inventory System Configuration Toggle if you have further questions about this feature.
Inventory Item Location Overrides
Under the System Defaults tab, a blue highlighted bar may appear on an inventory item. This indicates that the item has a Location-Level Override.
A Location-Level Override is a quick visual indicator that the location has changed one or more settings from the system-level default.
For example, the system-level price may be set to $400, but the location may override the price to $300.
What Inventory Item Fields Can Be Overridden in the Location?
Click on the inventory item to view or modify the available override options.
Any fields that can be overridden at the location level will become editable. Available override options include:
Price
Active status
Modifiers
Taxable status
Deleting an Override
To remove an override:
Click on the inventory item.
Select Delete Override.
Once deleted, the item will revert back to the system-level settings.
✅ Key takeaways
Navigate to your live location to manage local inventory.
