How to Set Up Column Configurations in the Insurance V2 Dashboard

Updated over 11 months ago

Overview

Column configurations in ChiroHD's Insurance V2 Dashboard allow you to reorder the columns on the EOB posting screen.
This matches the layout of each payer’s EOB format, making the posting process faster and more efficient.

This feature is optional, but it is highly recommended for speeding up EOB posting and reducing errors.

How to Access Column Configurations

  1. Go to InsuranceSettingsColumn Configs.

Why Use Column Configurations?

Different payers format their EOBs differently:

  • For example, Blue Cross Blue Shield might list Allowed AmountCo-PayCo-InsurancePayment.

  • United Healthcare might list Payment first.

By setting up column configurations, you:

  • Save time.

  • Post EOBs more accurately.

  • Minimize confusion during posting.

Setting Up a New Column Configuration

  1. Click Add New Column Config.

  2. Name your configuration (e.g., "Blue Cross Blue Shield").

  3. Drag and drop columns into the order that matches the payer’s EOB.

  4. To hide columns you do not need (for that payer), simply uncheck the box next to the column name.

  5. Click Submit to save your configuration.

    Example:

    • For Blue Cross Blue Shield:

      • Order: Allowed Amount → Co-Pay → Co-Insurance → Payment

      • Hide: Columns not shown on their EOB.

How to Apply a Column Configuration When Posting an EOB

  1. Go to InsuranceProcess EOB.

  2. Enter the Third Party Payer (e.g., Blue Cross Blue Shield).

  3. Click the Gear Icon next to the payer name.

  4. Select the appropriate Column Configuration you set up.

  5. The columns will reorder automatically to match your saved configuration.

  6. Now, you can post the EOB quickly from left to right based on the EOB's layout.

Important:
After creating a new column configuration, refresh your browser screen to ensure it loads properly for use.

Key Reminders

  • You can create multiple configurations for different insurance payers.

  • You do not have to create column configurations to post an EOB, but it greatly improves speed and accuracy.

  • Always refresh the screen after setting up a new configuration before using it on an EOB.

Summary

Using column configurations will significantly streamline your EOB posting process by aligning ChiroHD’s system with the way payers present their EOBs.
Setting these up early will save your office valuable time and help maintain clean, accurate ledgers.
