Location Specific Tags

Create location-specific tags to label and organize patients by custom criteria unique to your office.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

📝 Overview

Tags can be created at the system level to be available across all locations. These system tags are immediately accessible by any location.

If a location wants to create its own location-specific tags in addition to system-level ones, follow the steps below.

📍 Navigate to Your Live Location

Make sure you are working within your live location (not system or training level).

⚙️ Steps to Create a Location-Specific Tag

  1. Click Settings

  2. Click Initial Setup

  3. Select Tags

  4. Click Create Patient Tag

🛠️ Customize Your Tag

  • Click into the Name field to label your tag

  • Click the color picker to select a tag color

    • It is recommended to set a color

    • ⚠️ If no color is selected, the default is white—which does not stand out on the patient snapshot

  • Drag your cursor to select your color

  • Copy the # color label

  • Paste the code into the Color field

👁️ Display Option

Click the dropdown to select:

  • Yes – Display the tag on the patient snapshot in the patient queue

  • No – Tag will only display in the patient’s profile

💾 Save Your Work

Don’t forget to save your changes before exiting!

What Are Tags Used For?

Tags can be added to a patient’s profile to identify or mark them for specific needs at your office.

Examples:

  • Care plan type

  • Preferred doctor

  • Financial plan (e.g., monthly vs. per-visit)

  • Grouping patients for reporting not currently available in ChiroHD

🔍 Where Can I Find Tags?

  • At the top of the patient’s snapshot

  • In the Tags tab inside the patient profile

🔄 What Features Are Tags Used In?

Tags are more than visual identifiers—they power automations and reports:

  • Triggers:
System Dashboard > System Settings > Tags

  • Mass Notification:
Live location > Utilities > Mass Notification

  • By Tag Report:
Live location > Reporting > All Reports (Beta) > By Tag Report

  • Advanced Patient Search:
Live location > Reporting > Advanced Patient Search

Key Takeaways

  • Tags can be system-wide or location-specific

  • Location-specific tags are created in Settings > Initial Setup > Tags

  • Assign colors to make tags stand out—avoid default white

  • Tags power key features like Triggers, Mass Notifications, and Reports

📌 Conclusion

Location-specific tags are a powerful way to personalize patient tracking and workflow at your clinic. Whether used visually or tied to automation, properly configured tags can streamline operations and improve patient management.
