New Macro Layout
Updated over a month ago

Overview:
We have introduced a new macro layout option designed to improve efficiency when navigating SOAP note macros. This layout keeps the navigation bar fixed at the top of the screen, no matter how many prompts or macro options you have. Here’s how to enable this new feature and why it may benefit your workflow.

Steps to Enable the New Macro Layout:

  1. Navigate to Settings:

    • Navigate to your live location and go to Settings.

  2. Go to Office Configuration:

    • Under Office, select Office Configuration.

  3. Enable the New Macro Layout:

    • Scroll down to Beta Options and toggle on the New Macro Layout option.

    • This feature is currently available as an opt-in, but it will eventually become the default layout for all users.

How the New Macro Layout Works:

In the previous macro layout, the navigation bar at the bottom of the SOAP note screen would move up and down depending on how many prompts were in your macros. This could be inefficient, as you’d have to scroll to find the navigation bar each time.

With the new macro layout enabled:

  • The macro navigation bar remains fixed at the top of the screen.

  • Regardless of how many prompts or options are present, the bar stays in the same position, making it easier to access and use.

Benefits of the New Layout:

  • Increased Efficiency: Since the navigation bar no longer moves, you can quickly access options such as selecting answers or skipping sections without having to scroll to find the bar.

  • Ease of Use: Offices that frequently use default SOAP note macros will find it easier to navigate through notes without the distraction of a shifting navigation bar.

Example Workflow:

  1. Go to a SOAP note screen.

  2. As you work through your macros, notice that the navigation bar now stays fixed at the top.

  3. You can easily select answers, skip sections, or navigate through your SOAP note without needing to scroll back and forth to find the navigation bar.

Important Note:

The new macro layout does not change any of the existing functionality of your macros; it simply fixes the location of the navigation bar. This is particularly useful for offices that frequently use default macros or have a lot of prompts in their SOAP notes.

Conclusion:

Enabling the new macro layout can help streamline your SOAP note workflow by keeping the navigation bar fixed at the top of the screen. This ensures a smoother experience, reducing the time spent searching for the bar as you move through your macros. Give it a try to enhance efficiency in your office.
