ChiroHD organizes payment profiles into groupings called "cases." This allows a single patient to have an active Cash case, PI case, Medicare, Insurance, Workman's Comp, etc all within one patient profile. This saves the office the time of creating a new patient profile for each case type.

Cases can be found on the patient snapshot as well as in the patient profile under the Cases tab. Insurance Coverage information, DX codes, default services, etc are set up in the case.

Case Setup

  1. Open the patient profile and click "Cases"

  2. Add New Case

  3. Choose the Case Type.

    1. For an Insurance, Medicare, PI, or Workman's Comp case, go through each tab one at a time and follow these steps:

      1. Ensure you are creating the correct case type (ie do not set up a Medicare patient with an Insurance Case)

      2. Enter Chief Complaints, Care Notes, and DX Codes. Be sure the "start date" of the DX code is on or before the first dates of their care.

      3. Click to the "Insurance/Coverage" tab and enter Insurance Coverage information

      4. The Case can be renamed, Billing or Calendar provider can be overridden (if nothing is listed here, the location default will be used), and billing can be suspended from the "settings" tab

    2. If the case type is cash:

      1. Ensure you are creating the correct case type (ie do not set up a Medicare patient with an Insurance Case)

      2. Enter Chief Complaints, Care Notes, and DX Codes

      3. The Case can be renamed, Billing or Calendar provider can be overridden (if nothing is listed here, the location default will be used), and billing can be suspended from the "settings" tab
